In 1945, Otto Johannes Müller founded the MÜHLE business after returning from the war, making the first shaving brushes and designing the iconic MÜHLE signet. Over the decades, the company has undergone significant transformations, yet remained committed to crafting the finest quality shaving products.
In 1965, Hans-Jürgen Müller took over the growing enterprise, which by then had expanded to 40 employees and was exporting to 36 countries. However, in 1972, under pressure from the German Democratic Republic, he was forced to sell the company, and MÜHLE became a state-owned enterprise. During this period, the business was rebranded and only manufactured brushes for the state.
The tides turned in 1990 when a new Europe emerged, and Hans-Jürgen Müller regained control of the family business, trading as Hans-Jürgen Müller KG, while retaining the MÜHLE signet. The post-reunification era was challenging, but the company gradually won back customers and rehired former employees, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 1995.
The dawn of the new millennium saw MÜHLE expand its offering to a full range of wet shaving goods, and the brand came to the forefront. Today, MÜHLE razors, brushes, and accessories are used by shaving enthusiasts worldwide, designed and manufactured in historic Saxony, northern Germany.
For over 75 years, a skilled workforce has handcrafted the finest shaving tools for discerning gentlemen seeking the best wet shaving experience. MÜHLE remains committed to maintaining the high standards, dedication, and pioneering developments of the past, while educating the ritual of the perfect wet shave.
Customers can choose from various razor designs and shaving styles, including Gillette Mach3 and Fusion multi-blade razors, as well as the classic double-edge safety razor favored by enthusiasts for the closest shave and eco-conscious wet shavers. The shaving brush, the centerpiece of wet shaving, is available in a wide range of natural badger hair or synthetic fiber options to suit individual preferences.
To ensure the longevity of their products, MÜHLE offers a range of stylish chrome-plated shaving stands, including single razor stands, single brush stands, and multi-piece sets with or without a shaving bowl.
The MÜHLE Stainless Steel Cone Stand, for instance, is a minimalistic, sleek, and distinctive accessory designed to display and hold Mach3 and Fusion razors, freeing up counter space while showcasing the wet shave essentials. Crafted from durable, corrosion-resistant stainless steel with an elegant chrome finish, this stand embodies MÜHLE's commitment to quality, sustainability, and a passion for the art of shaving.
